Christian music artist, singer, rapper, songwriter was born in Nashville, Tennessee. He is the son of Robb Royer of the rock group Bread. He came up in the hip hop world but has moved to a pop/rock sound in his music as a son of a sinner reaching millions of people with his anthemic songs “Son of a Sinner” and “Need a Favor”.

After his hit album Whitsitt Chapel (2023) his music started to take off to new heights and was followed up with 3 GRAMMY wins in 2026. Jelly Roll is now a 3-time GRAMMY winner, New Artist of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards and multi- Billboard chart topping artist. Country, soul, blues and folk elements are all present in Kashus Culpepper’s song “After Me” and throughout his debut album Act I, which features 18 songs. A 26-year-old Navy veteran from Alexander City, Alabama, about 60 miles northeast of Montgomery, Culpepper is a soulful singer with a powerful voice and a country sound that is unflinchingly honest. He recently made his Billboard Country Airplay debut as Big Loud Records’ newest signing and had his song “After Me” named the February 2025 Country Rookie of the Month. We look at the songs on Act I to find out how they are using the power of country music.
